KOMO AM/FM has named Seattle market veteran Gregg Hersholt to replace recently-retired Bill Yeend as co-host of The KOMO Morning News. Hersholt joins co-anchor Manda Factor weekdays 5 ? 9 a.m. Hersholt joins KOMO from KXL radio in Portland, where he co-anchored The KXL Afternoon News. Prior to his stint in the Rose City, Hersholt spent 26 years at KIRO Radio, including 10 years on the morning drive show.
Hersholt said, ?KOMO has the best radio news staff in the northwest and I?m thrilled to join that team. There?s nowhere I?d rather be!? Hersholt replaces Yeend who retired on April 13th after 10 years on KOMO and 44 years on the radio.KOMO PD Paul Duckworth said, ?We?re so excited to have Gregg join us. He?s a terrific story teller, knows the news business and is a name that is synonymous with Seattle.?
