WNYC Radio in New York says Associate Managing Editor at The New York Times Jim Schachter will become Vice President for News beginning July 9th. It's a newly created position which puts Schachter in total control of the WNYC Radio news brand, including editorial decisions. Schachter spent 17 years at the Times, ?WNYC?s talented staff, enterprising spirit and public-service mission make it an incredibly appealing place to practice high-impact journalism.
