CEO John Caracciolo says a new format will be launched this Friday at 1:03 PM but he's not saying what the format is yet. JVC officially takes over the station from TTB Media on Tuesday. The current format is Spanish AC and JVC has entered in a short term marketing agreement with WRUM (Rumba 100.3-FM) in Orlando, owned by iHeartmedia. WHKQ will broadcast the WRUM morning show from Tuesday through Thursday morning.
JVC also announces several additions to its Orlando staff. Joining JVC as General Manager is longtime market veteran Chris Ganoudis. Ganoudis was perviously GSM at Cox Orlando?s WMMO. Steve Avellone joins the staff as Director of National Sales Steve Avellone. Avellone was most recently with Iheartmedia in Orlando and also worked at COX as NSM. Heading up the programming department is Orlando market veteran ?Shadow? the longtime pm-drive personality on WWKA along with ?MurphDawg' of sister JVC station WPTY. EVP Shane Reeve will oversee the new station.
