Anderson was 74 years old when he passed away on December 20. He was in management at WDAS-AM/FM, WHAT-AM, and WURD-AM in Philadelphia. Philly.com reports that the Pennsylvania native began his radio career in 1963 in Washington at WQMR-AM/WGAY-FM, where he worked his way up from messenger to producer before going into the army. In 1968, he took a job as a manager at WOCN-AM/FM in Florida, then moved to Chicago to manage WBMX-FM/AM in 1981 before landing in Philly as president/GM in 1988 where he was credited with stabilizing the station's finances.
