Beasley Revenue Flat, Profit Up In Q3

Beasley Broadcast Group brought in $24.2 million in revenue in the third quarter, nearly flat with $24.4 million in the same period a year ago. Beasley's net income was $2.1 million (9 cents per diluted share), compared to $1.4 million (6 cents) in Q3 of 2009.

NPR 'Damaged' By Williams Firing

NPR has been "damaged -- at least temporarily and possibly for the longer term" -- by its decision to fire news analyst Juan Williams, NPR Ombudsman Alicia Shepard said on the pubcaster's website. She also acknowledges that the comments on Fox News' O'Reilly Factor that got Williams fired may have been "relatively benign."

A denial-of-service attack organized by a hackers' group apparently took down the RIAA's websites Friday afternoon. The planned attack was announced after the shutdown of peer-to-peer LimeWire earlier this week.
