AUDIO: KLIF Morning Man Broadcasting Live When 7.4 Quake Rocks Japan

KLIF Dallas Program Director Jim Graci tells Radio Ink that morning man Jeff Bolton was on the air live when the magnitude 7.4 hit Japan yesterday. It was 11:35 pm Tokyo time, 9:35 am in Dallas. Jeff said: "We shook for more than a minute in random directions from the quake that was again...180 miles to the north...it was extremely spooky. I haven't heard the audio, but I'm sure I sounded like a twelve year old girl at the mall when I was live on air as it was happening."

Pittman: Radio Has Work to Do

Quoting a few of the recent studies released in the radio industry Clear Channel''s Bob Pittman made a strong pitch for radio at the Advertising Age convention yesterday. After explaining why he got involved and invested in Clear Channel Pittman told the audience that despite what others were telling him, radio is alive and well. He did say radio has work to do on the digital side. "You can't live without radio. The reach of radio is rock solid in America. Radio is nirvana because it's local. There is an emotional attachment to radio. What's changed is the web used to not be here."
