Bruno Off The Air Following "Illegal Alien" Comment

There are several reports stating that Tony Bruno has been suspended for a week for tweeting that a San Francisco Giants pitcher was an illegal alien. He was not on the air last night yet nothing official about a suspension has been posted on Bruno's Facebook or Twitter pages or the KNBR radio website. Bruno did post the following message on his Facebook page: "Thank you Piolin for the prayers and thoughts. My family and real friends keep me strong because they know who I am and what I am. Threatening my life or wishing bad things makes those of you who resort to this truly troubled."

Bruno posted the inflammatory tweet about Giants pitcher Ramon Hernandez after Hernandez beaned Shane Vicorino of the Phillies. For the record, Hernandez is not in the country illegally and some are taking Bruno's comments as racist. He removed the tweet less than a minute later and apologized on the air. The tweet had already gone viral before Bruno took it down and the wave of controversy has not stopped since. Victorino was suspended for three games for rushing the mound. A bench clearing brawl followed.
