If you've ever wondered how much the national to local revenue ratio is at one of the big radio companies Entercom gave a very good indication yesterday when the company filed its annual report. In 2011, Entercom generated 75% of net revenue from local advertising. 21% of Entercom's revenue came from national. A good chuck of the Entercom revenue (estimated at over 30%) comes from four markets, San Francisco, Boston, Kansas City and Buffalo. In 2011 Entercom generated $383 Million in revenue from its 23 radio markets. Expenses for the year were $262 million.
Local and national revenues include revenues from the sale of advertising on our stations? websites, the sale of advertising during audio streaming of our radio stations over the Internet, and e-commerce. Entercom generated the balance of our 2011 revenues principally from network compensation and non-spot revenue.
