We are starting to read and hear more good news about the advertising category that fuels many radio stations around the country. Bloomberg reports light-vehicle sales for February, which will be released today, may have run at a 14.2 million seasonally adjusted annual rate. "That pace would match January's and be the first time the U.S. posted a 14 million rate in consecutive months since May 2008. The sales rate was 13.3 million in February 2011."
Automotive News Age reports Ford sales may rise 9.4 percent. "The automaker said in a Feb. 27 statement that deliveries of its Focus compact were on pace to exceed 20,000 this month, more than double from a year earlier, the best February sales for the model since 2001." And Chrysler may have the biggest monthly sales increase among major automakers. "Deliveries may rise 26 percent, the average of 10 estimates. February would be Chrysler's 23rd consecutive monthly sales gain on a year-to-year basis."
