After a short bout with cancer, St. Louis area sportstalker and sportswriter Brian Burwell has died. Burwell joined 101ESPN in St. Louis as part of the initial broadcast team, when the station debuted in 2009. He also contributed to 101ESPN?s programming for the St. Louis Rams Radio Network during his two years with the station. Burwell was writing and reporting for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and was an on-air contributor for 101ESPN?s daily shows, after his departure from the station in 2010.
Hubbard Market Manager John Kijowski said, ?St. Louis has lost one of the nation?s best sports reporters/columnists, and we have lost a friend today. All of us at Hubbard Radio feel privileged to have had to chance to work professionally with Bryan, and we send our condolences to the Burwell family.?
