2012 Scion xB To Come Standard With HD Radio

June 29, 2011

iBiquity President & CEO Bob Struble said ?We are thrilled that Scion has committed to making HD Radio Technology standard in the xB and tC. Consumers are interacting with a range of digital media in their vehicles and digital broadcasting is the central pipeline to that entertainment platform. This is reinforced by the inclusion of iTunes? Tagging, which is activated by a simple push of a button on the Pioneer HD Radio receiver.?

The xB will include AM/FM/CD/HD/USB 160-watt maximum output Pioneer? audio system. New standard features for 2012 include HD Radio technology and Bluetooth connectivity that allows both hands-free phone connection and streaming audio capability.  Streaming audio allows compatible phone or personal media devices to pair with the audio system and listen to music through the vehicles sound system.

The audio system also features an organic electroluminescent screen with a personalized welcome screen, iPod/USB connectivity, Advanced Sound Retriever, and a subwoofer RCA output. The USB port and universal auxiliary port that are located on the center console allow users to listen to their portable music collection through the xB?s six Pioneer speakers. The 2012 xB will arrive at dealerships this July priced at $16,300 and $17,250 for the five-speed.

Volvo HD Radio TSBs:

"TJ20784 MAR 09 Audio System - HD Radio(R) Troubleshooting Guidelines"

"TJ20306 DEC 08 Campaign - HD Radio Software Update"

Hey Bob, there's another one for Keefe Bartels and Galax Wolf for Toyota, besides BMW's HD Radio TSBs since 2007. Also, I was just out at Sheehy Ford in Gaithersburg, MD. and the salesman stated that their dealership is getting a number of HD Radio complaints, and that "they had better do something soon". See ya in New Jersey, Struble! LOL!
