Nyren Leaves Chicago Radio Stations. Goes Digital.

7/14/2011

One insider told Radio Ink yesterday it's like drinking from a water hose for Merlin in Chicago as they take over Q101 and WLUP - or whatever they are going to be called. Merlin has no General Manager for the stations as of yet and Marv Nyren has decided not to take a position with Merlin, opting to stay with Emmis. Nyren will take a job in the Emmis digital division.

Nyren will be staying in Chicago working with Angie May Cook. Nyren has been with Emmis for 11 years, 6 in Chicago and 5 in Phoenix. All we could get from Walt Sabo on a new GM hire was the one word response "undecided".
