Oxenford: The FCC is Serious

2-14-13

In his Thursday blog posting, Broadcast attorney David Oxenford cites the recently reported $44,000 fine against WLS for not tagging ID's in sponsorship ads to point out how the FCC is cracking down on programming violations. Oxenford says you can expect "little mercy from the FCC," on these matters. Not only will they hit you with an NAL if you get caught, you have a slim chance of arguing the fine down. And, with sponsorship violations, you can be fined every time that spot airs. Oxenford provides excellent detail and links to some of previous articles that could help keep you out of the government dog house.
