CBS RADIO Re-Ups with SVP of Programming and Music Initiatives Michael Martin

CBS RADIO Re-Ups with SVP of Programming and Music Initiatives Michael Martin.  Based in San Francisco, Michael Martin also programs CBS RADIO's CHR KQMV and hot AC KLLC, but his corporate role with the company is as senior vice president of programming and music initiatives and CHR format captain.  CBS announces that it has signed Martin to a new, multi-year deal to remain with the company.  Executive vice president cbsradioof programming Chris Oliviero says, "Since the creation of this important position less than three years ago,martinmichael Michael has reshaped and evolved the dynamic partnership between our stations, artists, labels and managers.  His leadership, his relationships and his respected reputation has helped rewrite the playbook on how radio continues to create for fans many of the best and most memorable moments in music."  In the SVP of programming and music initiatives role, Martin "taps into his strong label and artist relationships to program live national events for CBS RADIO, including this Saturday's 'We Can Survive' concert featuring Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, Charlie Puth, G-Eazy, Meghan Trainor, OneRepublic, and Pitbull.  Martin also leads the efforts for CBS RADIO's 'Stars and Strings' (Nov. 9), 'The Night Before' and 'Sun.Pool.Fun' concerts that run throughout the year and in various cities across the U.S."  CBS RADIO San Francisco SVP and market manager Doug Harvill adds, "Michael is a true programming leader – a skillful music curator and content creator who keeps our listeners engaged, which in turn drives ratings and builds ad revenue.  We're incredibly lucky to have him."
RadioInfo Tidbits.  Although the actual contest takes place on Tuesday, a one-hour radio special will feature interviews with the top 10 finalists of Cumulus Media's "NASH Next Challenge 2016" – the national grassroots country music talent search and artist development program – on "NASH Nights Live" with Shawn Parr and Elaina Smith on Sunday, October 23 from 11:00 pm to 12:00 midnight ET…..SiriusXM is announcing a new, bi-weekly show featuring 80s rock icon Billy Idol.  The show – "Live Transmissions" – will consist of Idol playing his favorite music from the 1980s, including Joy Division, The Clash, Stooges, Ramones, Velvet Underground, The Damned, Generation X and more…..Cumulus Media's triple A KFOG, San Francisco announces the 2016 "Concert for Kids" lineup will feature: Band of Horses, Blind Pilot and The Revivalists.  This is the 31st year for the concert event that raises funds for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals and the Marines' Toys for Tots.  It'll take place at the Masonic on December 8.
