Entercom CEO David Field Issues Statement on KDND License Review.  On Friday, RadioInfo reported on the FCC's order for a Hearing for Renewal for Entercom's KDND, Sacramento as a result of the 2007 death of "Hold your wee for a Wii" contestant Jennifer Strange.  On Friday, Entercom CEO David Field issued thefielddavid following statement: "What happened at KDND in 2007 was a terrible tragedy that pains us deeply.  Throughout our 48-year history, we have had a steadfast commitment to being a caring and entercomresponsible corporate citizen, firmly committed to public service.  We take great pride in all of the work we have done to serve our communities.  Nonetheless, we fully recognize that all of our good work cannot undo that tragic event nine years ago.  We do believe it is important to note that the jury that heard this case concluded that Entercom Communications Corp. was not negligent.  What happened was the result of unauthorized and appalling actions by certain station employees who violated corporate procedures.  None of that diminishes our sadness and we remain committed to continuous improvement in our efforts to serve the public."
Alpha Media Promotes Milt McConnell to National Sales Role; Lisa Decker Joins Portland Stationmcconnellmilt Group.  This promotion of the company's Portland, Oregon market manager necessitates new faces in deckerlisathat cluster to assume vacant positions and that's exactly what's happened in the market that serves as the company's corporate base.  Portland SVP and market manager Milt McConnell is upped to the corporate role of VP, national and group sales strategy.  Radio sales and management pro Lisa Decker – who's served with CBS RADIO and iHeartMedia in addition to her most recent post as director of corporate sponsorships at classical KING-FM, Seattle – joins Alpha Media as SVP and market manager.  Amy Leimbach moves up from her regional director of business development post at the cluster to VP sales, Portland – Live Performanceleimbachamy Lounges.  Company president and CEO Bob Proffitt comments, "This is an exciting time for Alpha Media.  With our major growth in 2016, we have been focused on recognizing key players and evolving to the next level.  Milt has always been a high performer, even back in the Citadel days.  In his new role, he will work closely with our national rep firms as well as our business development team.
More RadioInfo Career Moves.  The search is on for a new afternoon drive personality at CBS RADIO's alternative KITS, San Francisco "LIVE 105" after the departure of Greg Beharrell.  While the station searches for that talent, PD Jacent Jackson is handling middays and Danica Lopez is hosting afternoons…..Country KSNI, Santa Maria, California morning drive co-host Jay Turner is named program director for the station.  He takes over for Pepper Daniels, who remains director of country and news/talk programming for American General Media…..E.W. Scripps Tulsa is bringing Jacob "Chubbs" Day aboard to co-host the morning show on CHR KHTT "106.9 K-HITS" with current AM drive personality Aly Presser, effective December 5.  "Chubbs" was a longtime personality on the syndicated Billy Madison rock morning show and most recently has been hosting mornings at Magic Broadcasting's CHR WILN, Panama Beach, Florida…..Beasley Broadcasting Group's rhythmic CHR WLLD, Tampa "WiLD 94.1" names Kenzie midday personality.
