Jim Ryan adds PD duties at CBS Radio's Classic Hits WCBS-FM/New York. Ryan is also corporate VP of Adult Contemporary programming and PD of WWFS-FM (Fresh 102.7)/New York.
"Jim knows New York radio and its core audience like no other, which is a perfect fit for the station that embodies and personifies the city," SVP/Market Manager Don Bouloukos said. "I have had the good fortune of working with Jim for the past two years, and his day-to-day performance made my final decision an easy one. This legendary institution begins its 41st year in very capable hands."
Ryan added, "CBS-FM is as much a part of New York as the Empire State Building and Broadway. In our industry there is no station more storied over the past 40 years than CBS-FM. Overseeing the programming of such a renowned radio station in the greatest city in the world is quite simply an honor."
Ryan takes over, effective immediately, from Brian Thomas, who is now VP/programming for CBS Radio in Tampa.
Ryan came to CBS Radio from his own consultancy, Jim Ryan Media, and before that spent a dozen years at Clear Channel?s AC WLTW (106.7 Lite FM)/New York and during that time rose to become Clear Channel's SVP/AC programming, and also consulted Premiere syndication.
