Second Quarter revenue at the radio giant was up $13 million to $805.6 million for the three months ending June 30. Through six months of the year the radio division at the company is flat. In Q2 revenue was driven by a 5% increase in national advertising, local was up 1%. Clear Channel executives also reported strong growth from Premiere Radio Network.The increases were offset by declines in the Traffic business due to lost contracts and lower sales. Financial services, retail and telecom were the three strongest categories for Clear Channel radio in Q2

A 1% growth in local in a rebounding economy?! That is horrible!!...But that's what happens to a company, when you don't pay your salespeople well. The top pros leave, and the mediocre salespeople that stay for the measley 50k average pay, can't drive the revenues as well.
