Regent Transfers To Townsquare Completed

The Regent Trust has completed the transfer of all but two broadcast licenses to Townsquare Media, which took over the former Regent Communications after Regent's Chapter 11. The final two Regent Trust licenses, for KARS-FM/Ft. Collins, CO, and KFTE-FM/Lafayette, LA, are transferred to the new Fort Collins-Lafayette Divestiture Trust.

WLIU Buyers Get More Time

Peconic Public Broadcasting gets two more months to make the last payment on its purchase of noncomm WLIU from Long Island University. Peconic, a local group formed specifically to buy the station and keep its format on the air, is raising money to make the final payment by August 31.

Nassau Broadacasting is selling WXTP/Portland, ME, to Presence Radio Network, which will move the former Rock outlet to Catholic programming as of Wednesday, the Portland Press-Herald reports.

Apple 'Stunned' By Wrong Signal-Strength Formula

Apple is releasing a software update that will update how it calculates how many signal-strength bars to display on the iPhone after user complaints that holding the phone a certain way causes it to lose four or five bars. Apple said, "Upon investigation, we were stunned to find that the formula we use to calculate how many bars of signal strength to display is totally wrong."
