Emmis Communications has begun an offer to exchange some of its preferred stock for new notes due 2017, and it's set a special shareholders' meeting for August 3, to discuss amendment to the terms of the preferred stock. Additionally, Emmis CEO Jeff Smulyan's JS Acquisition has extended its tender offer for Emmis' class A stock through August 3.
