Alden Defends Itself In Failed Emmis Deal

Late Thursday, Alden Global Capital -- the company that had agreed to finance Emmis' bid to go private but eventually backed out -- said that it became "impossible to complete a deal on the terms originally agreed by the parties" and that "further discussions would not result in a transaction that would be agreeable to Alden."
