BIA/Kelsey Updates 5-Year Forecast

BIA/Kelsey has revised its radio-industry forecast, predicting that radio will end 2010 with $14 billion in over-the-air revenue, up 5 percent from 2009. Over-the-air is expected to rise to $16.4 billion by 2014.

Seacrest will continue to host and produce mornings on KIIS-FM/Los Angeles as well as the nationally syndicated On Air With Ryan Seacrest and the Premiere-syndicated American Top 40, and he'll also develop new radio and other content via a joint venture with CC.

Lee is known for his philanthropic efforts in criminology, including establishing the Jerry Lee Foundation.

In an AdweekMedia-Harris poll, 43 percent respondents picked Internet banner ads as the ads they're most likely to ignore. Twenty percent said the same of search-engine ads, while just 7 percent picked radio ads.

Media Exposure: Format Makes A Difference

The Media Audit's new "National Radio Format Report" found that listeners to different music formats have varying exposure to other media, such as TV, newspaper, outdoor, and the Internet. Dance CHR listeners spend 4.5 hours a day online, the most among all formats, while listeners to Hispanic radio spend three hours a day online.

Noncomm Applicant Gets Station, $20k NAL

The FCC has issued a $20,000 notice of apparent liability to Iglesias Jesucristo Es Mi Refugio Inc. over its failure to update applications for three affiliated companies when control of the companies changed hands. But the commission has nonetheless rejected a petition to deny and granted IJR's application for a new noncommercial FM in Quemado, TX.
