Magnaglobal: Radio Will 'Underperform' Other Media

Magnaglobal predicts that radio will "generally underperform" compared to other ad-supported media worldwide, with 3.1 percent growth in 2011 and 4.1 percent growth through 2016. For advertising overall, Magnaglobal revises its worldwide forecast upward, to growth of 5.4 percent in 2011 and a compound annual growth rate of 6.3 percent through 2016.

Citadel Turned Down Merger Bids

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Citadel Broadcasting reports that last month its board turned down two merger offers from the same unnamed third party. The New York Times' DealBook, citing "people familiar with the offer," says the bids came from Cumulus Media.

TRN-FM, Dial Global Team On 'Mancow Experience'

Talk Radio Network's TRN-FM and Dial Global syndicate The Mancow Experience as a joint venture, offering a "re-energized" show from Erich "Mancow" Muller. Mancow's show -- heard from 5:30-10 a.m. ET -- has been refocusing for the past few months with musicians and other guests.

Westwood One's Urbanski, hosted by Douglas Urbanski, is set to debut January 24, and it will launch with Cumulus Media stations in 18 markets on board.
