Cumulus Media Adds Nielsen Music Monitoring

Cumulus Media and the Nielsen Co. expand their relationship, with an agreement that will have Cumulus stations using Nielsen's Broadcast Data Systems music monitoring, in addition to sales representation.

"Our stations need the most reliable research," Cumulus SVP Dennis Green said, "and this arrangement with Nielsen accomplishes that and allows us to continue providing the most compelling content on radio."

Cumulus SVP/Corporate Programming Jan Jeffries added, "We look forward to sharing BDS data with our stations across all format platforms. BDS is providing cutting-edge technology. Its accurate data helps us superserve our stations with valid and useful information with music targeting and rotations."

Nielsen BDSradio monitors more than 1,900 radio stations, satellite, and video channels in 176 North American markets.
