WBZ Boston Takes Home 12 News Trophies

WBZ NewsRadio 1030 won twelve regional awards for excellence in news coverage: eight AP awards including ?Best Newscast? and four Edward R. Murrow Awards presented by the Radio Television Digital News Association including ?Overall Excellence.? WBZ News and Programming Director Peter Casey said, ?There is a tremendous amount of effort that goes into this every year from our coverage of day-to-day news events to the special coverage for breaking news, news series, and other major events. This is a great display of accomplishment for the entire news and programming staff.  Credit is due to everyone on the staff that works hard every day to produce this volume of award winning news coverage.?

The winners were announced by the Associated Press and RTDNA and the awards will be presented at a joint awards ceremony on Friday, May 18.
