According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Robert Hille died of complications from an infection. He was 95. Hille was one of the original announcers on KXOK back in 1938. In 1951, a few years after television arrived in St. Louis, he did the 10 p.m. news on both the radio and the TV station KSD (Channel 5). Hille worked at KXOK when it included a full studio orchestra and a classical quartet. In that quartet was a man named ?Eddie? Arnold, who went on to become a very famous country singer and another talent you may have heard of, Paul Aurandt, who later went by the name ?Paul Harvey.?
