Larry Elder Fired From KABC

Cumulus did not officially confirm Elder was fired from KABC after his shift Tuesday but the radio industry was buzzing about it and the Los Angeles press was writing about it. Don Barrett, who covers L.A. radio extensively on his website wrote that Elder's agent George Green called him to confirm the talker was fired Tuesday. Green told Barrett that Larry's ratings were "going through the roof in all demographics." Elder was also fired by KABC back in 2008. He returned to the station 2010.

Simple question: Why, when someone gets canned, doesn't the honcho spokesperson for the company offer up a quote about so-and-so getting sacked from their radio "family." If I see that term used again in a parroted quote, I'm gonna puke. So watch out because there'll be quite a splash.

You just gave me the final reason to delete 790 from my radio pre-sets. Larry's show was the only decent one left to listen to after your 're-vamping' this year. Sorry for your loss.
