810 & 103-1 WGY and 99.5 The River raised nearly $650,000 during the 16th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon. The money from the 30-hour live broadcast was raised for the Children?s Hospital at Albany Medical Center. WGY PD Josh Everett said, ?It takes a dedicated team of hospital and radio station volunteers to make the Cares for Kids Radiothon a success, but the true heroes are the children and families being helped by these efforts. Their courage and willingness to share difficult and painful experiences -- along with their victories -- is truly what compels others to give so generously.?
