Is Syndication The Answer?

What Can Syndication Do For You?

Syndication is a fast-growing part of the radio business, and there's a huge and ever-expanding variety of programming available in music, entertainment, talk, sports, and more. At Radio Ink's Forecast 2011, a panel of executives from top programming providers will talk about the impact of syndication on ratings, revenue, and stations' bottom lines.
Some hot topics:  What kind of audiences, in terms of demos and ratings, do syndicators expect to deliver in the year ahead? Will Howard Stern, whose satellite contract is ending, pop back up on the terrestrial side of radio?  Who will fill the Dr. Laura gap? Does the possibility of performance royalties enhance the growth prospects for syndicated talk?
At this must-hear panel, led by John Gehron, you'll get the real story on syndication from the leaders whose companies are shaping the on-air lineups at stations nationwide. Moderator: John Gehron, COO of AccuRadio, is a radio veteran who has served as GM of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Radio and RVP/market manager for Clear Channel/Chicago. He began his career at WCAU/Philadelphia in 1970 and has also served as GM of WODS/Boston, flipping it to Oldies, and VP/GM of WNUA/Chicago.

Panelists:
Mark Masters is President/CEO of Talk Radio Network, one of the nation's most successful syndicators, offering such distinctive personalities as Michael Savage, Laura Ingraham, Rusty Humphries, and Phil Hendrie. Masters is seen as one of the industry's most vocal advocates for spoken-word radio.

John Rosso is President of Citadel Media, the network division of Citadel Broadcasting. Before moving to the network side, he was SVP/Digital Media for Citadel Broadcasting, and prior to that he was with ABC Radio Networks, in posts including SVP/Affiliate Relations & Digital Media.

Julie Talbott is President/Content & Affiliate Relations at Premiere Radio Networks. She joined Premiere in 1999 with the acquisition of MJI, as SVP/Integrated Marketing Solutions, and was promoted to EVP/Affiliate Relations in 2003, working with programs hosted by Glenn Beck, Bob & Tom, and others. Talbott rose to her current post in 2009.
