Michaels: 'I'm Still Working'

Following a New York Times report saying the Tribune board was on the verge of asking CEO Randy Michaels to quit, Michaels told the company's Chicago Tribune Tuesday, "I work here today, and I'm still working." The NYT' Dealbook said that the board was "expected to ask" for Michaels' resignation as soon as yesterday.

Survey: Agencies See No Barrier To More Digital Spending

A new Strata survey of ad agencies found that, for the first time, a majority of agencies say they see no obstacle to increasing digital spending -- a change from previous surveys where they cited lack of advertiser demand. More than 80 percent of agencies said in the third-quarter survey that they're focusing more on digital than they did last year, up 17 percent from Strata's Q1 poll.

FCC Adopts Rules For Sirius XM Leases

As part of their merger, XM and Sirius agreed to lease 4 percent of their channels to qualified entities, and now, after a number of delays, the FCC has adopted rules for how those leases will be implemented. The rules make the criteria for "qualified entity" race-neutral, and leave it to Sirius XM to choose the lessees, subject to review by the Media Bureau.

Yahoo reports its third-quarter results, with revenue up 2 percent, to $1.6 billion in the quarter. The company says display advertising revenue on its owned and operated sites rose 17 percent year-over-year.
