Emmis Loss Narrows In Fiscal Q2

Emmis Communications saw a net loss of $2.3 million in its fiscal second quarter, which ended August 31. That's compared to a loss of $135.6 million in the same period last year. Revenues came in at $66.9 million, up from $64.2 million.

Abrams Resigns From Tribune

Tribune Co. Chief Innovation Officer Lee Abrams has resigned. The veteran radio consultant was suspended indefinitely and without pay earlier this week after sending a companywide e-mail that linked to content that included nudity and profanity. The e-mail offended many Tribune employees, and CEO Randy Michaels said in suspending Abrams that it was "the kind of serious mistake that can't be tolerated."
