Chicago's Robert Feder landed an interview with the WGN-AM general manager 14 months into his run. Feder concludes de Castro is doing what he said he would do and that's to bring a new energy to a classic institution. On ending its relationship with the Chicago Cubs, (which started in 1925), de Castro tells Feder the reaction was emotional but it's a big non-issue. "We love the Cubs, wish them well, and plan to work with them on both WGN 720 and 87.7 FM The Game."
And on his decision to move Gary Meier to WGN.fm, de Castro said, "Garry is a great talent and many listeners are enjoying the freedom his online show allows him, which we expected. With two legendary talents like Johnny Brandmeier and Garry Meier on the Internet, who knows what?s next?"
