Dickey says it's too soon to answer that question. With so much riding on the future of Rdio for Cumulus, it's a fair question and one that was asked Tuesday on the conference call. iHeartRadio has become the defacto radio portal for many radio companies, including Cumulus. Dickey says Rdio will eventually include all Cumulus stations, best of features and bits, on-demand audio and curated stations.
He says a new Rdio product launch is coming this summer. The company expects Rdio to become a producer of serious digital revenue at some point and that will include revenue from digital and mobile ad networks. Dickey did not disclose user numbers for Rdio stating, "We are not sharing those publicly until they roll out the free ad supported service in the back half of the year."
