Nielsen recently released statistics showing that radio reaches 93% of Americans ages 18 and up. Mark Kassof & Co. conducted a survey to see what the public believes radio's reach to be. Based on over 700 phone interviews, the public believes only 53% of the public listens to radio. One-third of those interviewed thought less than half of the public are radio listeners. Kassof points out that "perception is reality" and says radio has a PR problem. The Kassof & Co. survey results can be viewed here.
