Non-Com CPR Gets An FM Signal

1-9-15

Colorado Public Radio is purchasing an FM from Front Range Sports Network for a reported $5.75 million and will begin broadcasting at 102.3 on January 27. Current.org reports that CPR will use the new frequency to try to gain popularity for OpenAir which focuses on the Colorado music scene with commentary and insights on local musicians, albums and events. It also records and broadcasts studio performances by local artists. Around 200 local bands have performed in its studio. OpenAir launched in 2011 on 1340 AM, a channel that previously broadcast CPR?s news and talk programming.
