Mum Is The Word On Voltair

5-21-15

This week, NAB's Committee on Local Radio Audience Measurement met in Washington. The primary purpose of the meeting was to discuss potential issues with the PPM ratings system and the new audio processor by the Telos Alliance, Voltair, which helps correct the issues, but also exposes them to the industry. Information on the discussions that took place within this meeting are being kept quiet, however.

Chuck DuCoty, NRG Media's COO, is the chairperson for COLRAM. Here is a look at all of your representatives sitting on that committee. Asked by Radio Ink for details on this week's meeting, DuCoty issued a statement saying: "As part of COLRAM's mission we are discussing Voltaire and its relationship to PPM. We met with Telos and have an ongoing dialogue with Nielsen but as a matter of policy COLRAM will not be making a public statement regarding the matter."
Nielsen says it is testing the device and discussing those tests with Telos. Discussions regarding Nielsen's PPM process and the Telos Alliance's Voltair processor continue to take place throughout the radio industry. If you have not watched our one-hour free webinar about Voltair you can watch it HERE.
