WVON/Chicago has hired former television news anchor Robin Robinson as the host of Robin's Nest, a three-hour talk show that will be heard live on Monday nights and as a fill-in for other shows. The new show replaces the weekly talk show hosted by the Grammy Award-winning Che "Rhymefest" Smith. This marks Robinson's second part-time radio job in just under a month. In mid-April, she began at WBBM-AM/Newsradio 780 & 105.9, working as a fill-in news anchor.
Chicagoland Radio and Media reports this isn't Robinson's first time working in Chicago radio. In 1993, she served as guest host for Tom Joyner's morning show on WGCI-FM. That led to her hosting her own weekend show on WGCI-FM from 1994-1996. She has also been a frequent guest on stations up and down the local radio dial over the last three decades.
