"Serving Your Country" Commemorates Memorial Day

5-15-15

United Stations Radio Network's syndicated weekend program Serving Your Country honors our nation's military personnel each and every show, not just on select patriotic holidays, so naturally they will be doing so once again on Memorial Day weekend. However, on this particular Memorial Day weekend, the show will be heard on more radios than ever before.

Serving Your Country has been picked up by the American Forces Network (aka the American Forces Radio and Television Service), which will begin broadcasting the show on their Today's Best Country channel that weekend. AFN is heard in 177 countries, on military ships, and online. Additionally, USRN will be allowing stations that aren't yet affiliates the opportunity to give the show a "free spin" on Memorial Day weekend. Stations that would like to try out the Country music show that focuses on veterans and the men and women in uniform may do so by emailing USRN EVP of Programming Andy Denemark at andyd@unitedstations.com.

The Memorial Day weekend episode of Serving Your Country is a bit more somber than usual, paying respect to military members who lost their lives while in the call of duty. Host Ramblin' Ray Stevens and correspondent Laura Bryna will have with them guests The Band Perry and Brantley Gilbert.

Radio is constantly honoring the military in one way or another. How about honoring those who work for peace?
