The District Attorney for Lehigh County, Jim Martin, is suing blogger Bill Villa claiming he tarnished the district attorney's reputation online and on WAEB-AM, reports Mcall. The suit alleges he called Martin "crooked" and "corrupt," and said his office "fixes" criminal cases.
The suit, filed last week in Lehigh County Court, claims Martin said Villa "has held a personal animus towards Martin" and has knowingly lied about the way he prosecutes criminals. Villa is claiming he has the right to speak his mind. Also named in the suit is WAEB host Robert Walsh (pictured), who uses the on-air name Bobby Gunther Walsh. Martin alleges that Villa made false statements while a guest on Walsh's show. WAEB's parent company and subsidiaries, iHeartCommunications, Capstar TX, and iHeartMedia, are also listed as defendants.
