Astra Joins 92.3 AMP Radio In Afternoon Drive

Popular Long Island radio host Astra will join CBS Radio's 92.3 AMP Radio (WBMP-FM), as the station?s afternoon drive host. Astra, a native New Yorker, has extensive radio experience in NYC and on Long Island. Formerly known as Astra After Dark for her nighttime shift on WBLI, she was most recently the station's midday host. Her first on-air gig was middays at WXXP -- Party 105.3; she later added afternoons at sister station WLIR.

"I am honored and blessed to be joining the team at 92.3 AMP radio," Astra said. "It's been my dream to work in the number one market. To have landed the afternoon drive position, I can say that all of my hard work has paid off...Dreams do come true! I can't wait to crack that mic and make noise in New York City!"

AMP PD Rick Thomas said, "Astra?s positive energy and great sound make her the perfect match for 92.3 AMP Radio."

As of Monday, September 15, 92.3 AMP Radio?s weekday lineup will be Niko midday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by Astra in afternoon drive, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Toro will take over for the evening shift, 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.
