Portland-based Alpha Media announced Tuesday that the company closed on the purchase of nine radio stations from Access 1 Communications. The radio stations purchased include five stations located in Shreveport -- KBTT-FM, KOKA-AM, KDKS-FM, KLKL-FM, and KTAL-FM -- and four radio stations in Tyler-Longview -- KKUS-FM, KOOI-FM, KOYE-FM, and KYKX-FM.
Alpha Media Chairman Larry Wilson said of the transaction: "Chesley Maddox-Dorsey is a great person with superb integrity and it's a tremendous honor for us to be buying stations from Access 1. The quality of people I've met and their passion for the industry is impressive; it fits right in our sweet spot for live and local radio."
Upon the successful completion of all pending transactions, Alpha Media will own 96 radio stations and operate two others under LMAs.
