After 14 years, The Tim Brando Show is coming to an end this week. The show, which is heard on SiriusXM radio's College Sports Nation channel, will air its final program on Thursday. Brando will not be exiting radio, though. He will continue his association with FOX Sports Radio, serving as play-by-play commentator for college football and basketball games, as well as being part of FOX's US Open coverage in June. Brando may also call some NFL games for FOX this fall.
Last year, Brando moved from CBS Sports to FOX Sports, which allowed him more opportunities for play-by-play work. In the past year, it became difficult to prepare and travel for all of his game broadcasts, plus to do a live sports talk show.
Brando told the Houston Chronicle on Monday: "Retiring the show is something I felt I needed to do. The success at Fox in general is the primary reason. It's been 14 years, and I think it's time to concentrate on what I feel I'm best at and have one full-time job instead of two."
